Replenish Your Energy From The Inside Out!
Mother Nurture is a soothing fusion of Restorative Yoga braided with Mindfulness Meditation. This class is designed to help recharge your batteries and restore a sense of inner peace and calm.
Restorative yoga offers a tranquil refuge from the 'busyness' and overwhelm of our everyday lives. It helps puts back what the demands of life can sometimes take out.
What's Restorative Yoga?
Restorative yoga is a special type of yoga drawn from the Iyengar tradition of yoga. Unlike other forms of flowing yoga, restorative yoga is a quiet, reflective, and mostly passive practice. Using props to support the body and long holds of poses (5-15 minutes), restorative yoga gently activates what's called the Relaxation Response and helps the nervous system recover from chronic daily stress and tension. And as the name suggests, it is deeply relaxing and restorative. If you've never tried Restorative yoga you'll find it deeply healing and rejuvenating for body, mind and soul.
Benefits of Restorative Yoga include;
- enhanced immune function & wellbeing
- mental poise, focus and clarity
- promotes deep cellular renewal & healing
- restores connectiion to inner wisdom & creativity
- enhances relaxation & restful sleep
- increases resilience & coping skills
Somatic Mindfulness (Interoception) helps develop presence, patience and self-compassion. It helps cultivate embodiement and activates what is known as the 'Present-Centred Network' (PCN) a state of being that is deeply relaxed yet awake and aware. In Buddhism this state is referred to as Samatha or Calm Abiding.
This offering is facilitated with senior yoga teacher and Mindfulness meditation mentor, Fiona Donohoe-Bales. Fiona is a mother of three and knows intimately the joys and challenges of raising happy healthy kids.
"When practised with intention and from the heart yoga helps us reconnect with that part of us that is stable, fresh and fully alive to the present." ~ Fiona
