Deep Rest - Restorative Yoga

Deep Rest is the perfect opportunity to press pause, rest and replenish. You will be transported, through the medium of form, breath and mindful awareness, to a place of deep relaxation and inner peace. It's in this quiet place of stillness that the magic of healing happens!

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative Yoga is a special type of yoga based on the yoga tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar. Unlike other forms of flowing yoga, Restorative Yoga is a quiet, reflective and mostly passive and meditative practice.

A Restorative Yoga class typically includes only 5 - 8 poses supported with props and held for anywhere from 10 - 15 minutes. Gentle backbends, forward bends, twists and inversions are used to invite full relaxation of body and mind. Classes may include an additional deep relaxation practice known as Yoga Nidra.

Students are cradled, cushioned and supported by bolsters, blankets and cushions so they can comfortably let go and relax. The longer holds elicit what’s known as the Relaxation Response and allows the nervous system to fully decompress and recover from chronic daily stress and tension.

Classes run throughout NSW school terms during 2023. One make-up class will be offered during school holidays.

Class Length - 75 Minutes.

Experience Level - Beginner to Advanced.

All equipment provided.

Restorative Yoga I Somatic Healing I Yoga Nidra

This Restorative Yoga class is an opportunity for us to come together and pause, rest and replenish. You will be transported, through the medium of form, breath and mindful awareness, to a place of deep relaxation and inner peace. It's in this quiet place of stillness that the magic of healing happens.

The focus of this month's session will continue to nourish and support the Liver/Gallbladder meridian. In this transitional season of spring yang energy ascends in preparation for the hgh yang season of summer. Spring is a time to nourish our roots and weed out what no longer serves us to make way for a fresh and fertile garden of possibilities. When the Liver meridian is in balance and well nurtured our hearts brim with kindness, forgiveness and creativity.

HypnoBirthing NEW Course

PROGRAM

Five weekly sessions held on Saturday afternoons (Total of 12.5 hours of tuition)

ABOUT

HypnoBirthing offers new parents powerful evidence-based practices to help ease stress and discomfort during childbirth. The course is delivered over 5 weeks so you can optimise your learning and fully integrate the techniques before your baby arrives.

The program is backed by over 30 years of research and has recently enjoyed a boost in popularity thanks to the vote of confidence from members of the British Royal Family. Kate Middleton employed HypnoBirthing techniques for all three of her labours and Meaghan Markle also used the program for the birth of her son.

Experts claim the benefits include a shorter first stage labour, less intense pain, a shorter hospital stay and less fear and anxiety after the birth of the baby.

Hypnobirthing helps alleviate stress and discomfort during labour using three main techniques; breathing techniques tailored for each stage of labour, positive affirmations and gentle self-hypnosis.

Fans of hypnobirthing, like Kate and Meaghan, say that staying calm stops your body going into a panicky "fight-or-flight mode", enabling you to focus your energy on a smoother more enjoyable birth experience.

Staying calm also helps your body release the body's 'feel good' hormones like oxytocin and endorphins which help ease the discomfort of labour and boost relaxation.

Note To New Dads! The skills you will learn in our HypnoBirthing classes are not just Birth Skills they are skills you will learn for Life!

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?

HypnoBirthing is for you, your husband/partner and whoever is attending your birth eg. doula, mother, friend or relative. We recommend attending anytime from around week 26 - 28 during your pregnancy.

HypnoBirthing fills up quickly! Book your spot early to avoid disappointment.

COURSE INCLUDES:

  1. The HypnoBirthing Book by Marie Mongan

  • All the Benefits of having a HypnoBirth
  • The latest research on HypnoBirthing
  • How it can help you prepare for a positive and rewarding birth experience

You will also be able to ask any questions about the program.

ABOUT

Many mamas are anxious about childbirth. For some it can even be
terrifying. It's partly why many women may be willing to head straight for pain relief at the onset of labour.

There is another way! For a growing number of women, self-hypnosis is transforming the way they birth. Women choosing to have a HypnoBirth say their experience of childbirth is not only less painful, it's also more empowering and satisfying.

You will learn powerful skills that will help you reframe the way you approach your labour. Hypnobirth is an evidence-based program that has been helping new mamas feel confident and empowered for over 30 years.
